A First… IN QUEBEC!
New cap : Québec
For over 20 years, Challenge Family has been organizing exceptional events and triathlons around the world. This event marks the first official race in North America in the 2024 Challenge Family calendar, choosing Quebec as the host city for its first triathlon on Quebec soil.
Before Kickoff
Dominique Piché
Since the 90s, Dominique Piché has been involved in triathlons as an athlete and event organizer. In the early 2000s, he developed a fascination for endurance distances while cheering on his good friend Bruno at the IRONMAN Lake Placid. In 2004, Dominique revived the Mont-Tremblant Triathlon with two close collaborators, Marie-Annick Tourillon and Annie Veilleux. Then, in the fall of 2010, thanks to his determination and perseverance, he convinced the IRONMAN international organization to add Mont-Tremblant as a destination to its circuit, with the support of Marc Roy and Isabelle Fradette, co-owners of Sporstats.
By bringing together all qualified individuals and involving the entire community, Dominique ensures the realization of these world-class events of very high quality. Innovation in race organization and participant satisfaction have allowed the events to shine worldwide.
With this baggage acquired over time through rigorous and professional work, Dominique now has the privilege and honour of welcoming you to the SAIL CHALLENGE CAP QUÉBEC Triathlon powered by ARGON 18 in the heart of the national capital of Quebec province. More than just a start and a finish, this triathlon with family values will take you to the most prestigious places in Quebec City, the cradle of French America! This must-visit destination is known for its history, culture, gastronomy…
For the first time in its history, the Port of Quebec City is making its facilities available to become your home base for this event! You will have the opportunity to reclaim the Saint-Lawrence River by diving into the Louise Basin for swimming. Then, you will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime bike ride on the Dufferin-Montmorency Highway, taking you very close to the 83-meter high Montmorency Falls. And let’s not forget the running route, winding along the banks of the Saint-Charles River before taking you to the heart of Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage jewel.
For over 20 years, Dominique’s professional mission has been to welcome you as triathletes and spectators. With the intention of thinking outside the box, the team of SAIL CHALLENGE CAP QUÉBEC powered by ARGON 18 and Dominique Piché offer you an urban triathlon in the heart of Quebec City, an inspiring destination where the joy of living is palpable. Our hope is that you will enjoy this extraordinary experience to its fullest, making it a recurring event on your race calendar.
Looking forward to seeing you in Quebec City soon!
